Color stain - the color that used in pottery decoration
Can the water-based paint be used for ceramic work? Then what’s about the acrylic paint that the color looks dense? Can it be used? A...In the past, evolution was not advanced yet. What kind of colors do humans use on containers or accessories??
All the colors seen on the porcelain or pottery in the past made from natural materials that give shades in that color but those colors do not stick firmly, is not durable for years because it comes from nature, it will deteriorate according to the time set by nature but because humans never stop inventing and searching until found a substance that makes the color durable and unchanged. Plus it is resistant to high temperature In addition, discovered the uniqueness during firing that produced many different colors therefore the porcelains obtained are not in the same color.
Oh...And if you want a design that besides having the same size and shape, the color can be made exactly the same. The improvement of the raw materials used for the coloring took place, and “Ceramic Color or Stain Color Manufacturing Technology” was developed to address this problem. The types of ceramic colors can be divided into 2 major types according to their usage. Ceramic color for glaze stain and ceramic color for body stain
The difference between these two types of ceramic colors is in the raw materials used in their production. Ceramic colors for use in clay use less expensive clay materials and fewer types of raw materials because there is no oxide in the clay body that will change the color. This is because most of the clay contains only alkaline oxides, silica, alumina which affects the color less. Therefore, there is not many oxide types required in the manufacture of ceramic colors for use in clay.
But ceramic colors for glazing can be used as underglaze, on glaze for decoration and can be used in glazes but the temperature and atmosphere used will depend on the components of the colors including the raw materials that will be used to make the glaze must be appropriate for the components of the chosen stain colors in order to control the consistency in quality of the glazes. The chosen color that is not suitable for the glazing formula will cause the color to be distorted or unstable or will require more colors, causing the cost of the glazing to rise unnecessarily.
