PPATEX-101 Clay Extruder with 20 interchangeable dies to quickly and consistently create various clay shapes. 100%
Correct Usage Instructions
1. Select and Insert the Die: Unscrew the end cap of the barrel. Choose the desired die shape and place it into the end cap. Then, screw the end cap back onto the barrel tightly.
2. Prepare and Load the Clay: Knead the clay or modeling clay until it is soft (if the clay is too hard, it will be difficult to extrude and the output will be distorted). Roll the clay into a cylindrical stick slightly smaller than the barrel. Pull up the plunger rod and insert the clay stick into the barrel.
3. Extrude the Clay: Use a syringe-like grip, hooking your index and middle fingers into the side grips and pressing down directly on the plunger rod with your thumb. The clay will be squeezed out through the end of the barrel in strands according to the chosen die pattern.
Precautions
- The clay must be soft: The most important precaution is not to use dry or hard clay for extrusion. Not only will it be impossible to press, but the enormous pressure can bend the metal die or damage the plastic/metal threads of the barrel. If the clay is too sticky, add a little water and knead it until it has a soft, play-doh-like consistency before loading it into the barrel.
- Cleaning: After use, immediately disassemble and wash the parts, pushing out any remaining clay in the barrel and the small holes of the die (an old toothbrush works well for scrubbing). Then, wipe thoroughly dry to prevent rust stains and blockages in future use.
