The Clay Drill Pen is a high-precision tool for drilling holes in ceramic or clay work. The 4mm (HM-4) size is a relatively small and fine starting size.
- Primary Uses (Drainage and Stringing Holes): Ideal for drilling small holes in various pieces, such as stringing holes for mobiles, drainage holes for miniature plant pots, holes for lamp cords, or ventilation holes for hollow sculptures to prevent them from exploding during firing.
- Decorative Piercing/Cutout: Use to drill a series of holes to create translucent pierced patterns on candle holders or graphic patterns on various vessels.
- Push-Button Ejector: A key feature of this pen is the push-button at the top. When drilling into clay, the clay will get stuck in the brass tube. You can press the button at the top to eject the clay scraps immediately, allowing for continuous and fast drilling with sharp, clean, and undistorted hole edges.

Drill at the Leather-Hard Stage: This will result in perfectly sharp hole edges without tearing, and the clay scraps will be easiest to remove as solid pieces.
