Main uses
-
Drilling and Reaming Holes: Press the sharp end into the clay (at a leather-hard stage), then gently twist and ream. The angled and hollow tip will neatly cut and push out the clay, creating perfectly round holes without distorting the clay.
-
Often used for drilling drainage holes in plant pots, ventilation holes in ceramic lamps, or holes for filling various pieces with water.
-
-
Scraping/Fluting / Surface Decoration: The angled edge can be used to scrape grooves (fluting) on the surface of the piece to create natural vertical or striped patterns.
-
Scooping or Shaping: The beveled, parrot-beak-like end can also be used to scoop clay, apply clay, or scrape away excess clay from corners and crevices.
-
Clay Does Not Stick to the Tool: The natural moisture-absorbing property of bamboo means that sticky clay is less likely to adhere to the bamboo tool compared to metal tools, making it easier to cut and release.
-
Available in 3 Sizes: You can choose the appropriate size according to the desired hole diameter.
