Primary Uses
-
Trimming & Clay Removal: Used for removing excess clay where thickness needs to be reduced, or for hollowing out the inside of cast/hollow sculptures to lighten the piece and ensure even drying, reducing cracking during firing.
-
Detail Carving: The two different sizes and shapes of wire ends allow for precise and clear carving of grooves, water channels, or intricate lines and patterns on the surface of the piece.
-
Shaping: Used to scrape and smooth curves, remove mold seams, or adjust the surface planes of small to medium-sized sculptures to achieve desired proportions.
Highlights
-
Excellent value with 2 wire shapes: A single handle features two different wire ends (e.g., rounded and square/teardrop shapes), allowing for immediate use in tight corners or curved areas without frequent tool changes.
-
Comfortable wooden handle: The handle is made of smooth wood, slightly thicker in the middle, providing a firm grip and stable control over the pressure applied when trimming clay.
