KI-21 Winter Glass is a cool, pastel blue that resembles the coldness of glass coated with ice in winter, creating a refreshing, gentle, and calming feeling.
The Kiln Ice family of glazes is inspired by an ancient glaze called Guan or Snowflake glaze. It is characterized by fine cracks ( crazing ) scattered throughout the surface. When fired, the glaze is transparent, but the cracked areas appear slightly opaque, creating beautiful dimensional and textured surfaces. Glaze application and firing techniques may result in different results each time.
This coating is safe for food contact, but due to its durability, it is not recommended for use on surfaces that will come into direct contact with food. Also, as the raw materials used vary from batch to batch, a test sheet should be burned before each actual use.
