CR-12 is a glossy white glaze with scattered black dots. When fired, they flow together to form floating patterns of varying sizes and shapes, creating an unpredictable, natural surface pattern, adding dimension and unique charm to the piece.
How to use
- Apply 1–4 coats of glaze on the bisque fired at Cone 04 temperature.
- Wait for each layer to dry almost completely, but not too much to crack.
- Crawl type coatings will develop small cracks as they dry, so handle the workpiece with care.
- For greater durability, it can be applied over AMACO Celadon glaze or underglaze before firing.
The results obtained
- Applying multiple coats will result in larger coating spots and more cracks.
- Applying a thin layer will give you fine, bead-like particles.
- It is best to burn at Cone 5–6 for best results.
