Teddy Bear Velvet Underglaze is a chestnut brown that will produce a warm tan-brown at Cone 05, intensifying to a russet brown at Cone 5. The color will lighten and start to burn out at Cone 10. Applying a clear glaze will enhance the underglaze color at Cone 05, but may cause some color fade at Cone 5 and Cone 10.
For Teddy Bear Velvet, we recommend using HF-9 Zinc-Free Clear Glaze. Using HF-10 Clear Glaze may cause color distortion.
HF-9 Zinc-Free Clear Glaze is specifically designed for use with underglazes to minimize the possibility of color shift. Most underglazes, stains, and oxides will display their best hues when used with this type of zinc-free clear glaze.
