The Velvets color group is highly sought after by professionals and children alike due to its vibrant, reliable, and versatile colors.
This color group will produce true-to-color results when fired at Cone 05/06 (as an underglaze) and can maintain color clarity even when fired at higher temperatures up to Cone 10.
You can choose between two surface finishes:

Matte: Leave the color without a top glaze to achieve a smooth, velvety texture.

Glossy or Semi-Matte: Apply a clear AMACO glaze (Clear Transparent Matte or Clear Gloss) to enhance the color intensity and vibrancy.
Velvets colors can be easily applied to clay at various stages, whether it's wet clay, greenware, or bisque-fired pieces at Cone 04 (1077°C). They are also suitable for both glazed and unglazed applications and are Food Safe when used with an appropriate clear glaze.
