Bright Red is a deep crimson that fires to a bright, clear color at Cone 05. The color deepens slightly at Cone 5 and becomes a deep cherry red at Cone 10. A clear glaze greatly enhances the underglaze color at all temperatures.
Clear Glaze Recommendation
For Bright Red Velvet, we recommend using HF-10 Clear. However, using HF-9 Zinc-Free Clear is a recommended option for most underglazes to help reduce the possibility of color shift, as most underglazes, stains, and oxides used for coloring will show their best colors when paired with a zinc-free clear glaze.
Additional Recommendation: Due to potential variations in raw materials between batches, we recommend conducting test firings on test tiles before actual use every time a new batch number is introduced.
