The Kiln Ice glaze series is inspired by ancient glazes known as Guan or Snowflake glaze. Its unique characteristic is fine crazing spread across the surface. Once fired, the glaze is translucent, but the areas with crazing appear slightly opaque, creating beautiful and varied dimensions and textures. Application and firing techniques may result in different outcomes each time.
This glaze is food-safe, but due to its durability, it is not recommended for surfaces that come into direct contact with food. Additionally, due to variations in raw materials between batches, it is advisable to fire a test tile before actual use every time.
