4. Shape as Desired

Once the clay is pulled up to the desired height, you can use your fingers and palms to gently press, push, or squeeze the clay to create various shapes according to your desired design, whether round, cylindrical, or freeform.

If the resulting shape is not as desired, avoid forcing corrections that distort the clay too much. You can use a cutting tool to remove the clay and restart the shaping process to achieve a piece with better proportions and a more beautiful shape.

5. Trim and Finish the Piece

After shaping, wait for the clay to reach a leather-hard state before proceeding to the trimming stage. Then, use trimming or carving tools to refine the shape and smooth the surface.

Finally, gently rub the surface with a damp sponge to refine details and make the surface of the piece smoother.
