A standard versatile tool for ceramics and sculpting. Its slender, pointed blade structure is specifically designed for trimming and shaping clay.

Applications

• Cutting clay slabs: Used for smoothly and precisely cutting clay slabs along straight lines or desired curved patterns/shapes.

• Piercing and perforating: With its sharp, tapered blade tip, it's ideal for piercing through clay walls to create openwork patterns or perforating holes for lamps and aromatherapy diffusers in ceramic work.

• Trimming and removing seam lines: Use the blade to trim and refine the edges of vessel openings, bases, or to scrape away slip seam lines (fettling lines) that appear after removing the piece from the plaster mold, making them smooth.

• Scoring for attachment: The knife tip can be used to score cross-hatch marks on the surface of leather-hard clay to prepare the area for applying slip to join clay parts together, such as attaching mug handles.
