EX-115 Clay Extruder Set

The EX-115 Clay Rolling Kit, or Clay Rolling Pin and Thickness Guide Strips Set, is a crucial basic toolset for the Slab Building technique. It is designed to help potters roll out clay into flat sheets of consistent thickness.

Usage

• Roll out clay slabs to 100% consistent thickness: To use, place the Guide Strips on both sides of the clay slab. Then, place the cylindrical rolling pin on the guide strips and roll the clay. The guide strips will prevent the rolling pin from pressing too deeply, ensuring that the finished clay slab has a smooth and even thickness throughout, without wavy thick or thin spots.
• Prepare clay sheets for cutting and assembling shapes: These consistently thick clay sheets are often used to cut patterns for assembling geometric pieces, such as making square boxes, planters, square vases, or for pressing onto plaster molds (Press Molding) for plates and bowls.
• Create a base for carving/stamping: Ideal for preparing a smooth clay surface for stamping, creating texture patterns, or cutting small pieces such as nameplates, letters, and ceramic jewelry.
