Amaco Cosmos Glaze, CO-03 Event Horizon

Amaco Cosmos CO-3 Event Horizon is a high-flow, dark-toned glaze that transforms between large crystal formations with blue and purple highlights when fired at Cone 5 to a vibrant gold surface when fired at Cone 6.

Application: Apply to Cone 04 bisque ware.

Number of Coats: Apply 4 coats.

Recommendation: For best results, leave the inside or back of the piece unglazed.

Firing: Can be fired on a standard medium-speed firing schedule, with no special cooling schedule required. However, to take the results of this glaze to the next level, a controlled cooling schedule can be used to enhance crystal growth.

Flow Warning: This group of glazes tends to flow easily. It is recommended to stop glazing approximately half an inch (0.5 inch) from the base/foot of the piece. Additionally, you can use a drip tray or soft firebricks to protect the kiln shelf.

Food Safety: This glaze is food safe. However, due to its surface durability, it is not recommended for direct food contact areas.

Due to potential variations in raw materials used during manufacturing, we recommend performing a test firing on a test tile before actual use with each new batch number.
