30 cm metal handle scraper

Steel-handled trimming tool, 30 cm. Used for gouging and removing large amounts of excess clay from large pieces. The loop strip is made of sharp and strong flat stainless steel, resistant to bending under pressure. The 30 cm long steel handle provides excellent leverage and access to the bottom of deep vessels.

Functionality by head shape

• C-50#86AL (Extra-long handle - triangular head + wide circular head)

  • Triangular head: Wide, straight cross-section, ideal for trimming and leveling the bottom of large pieces to a flat surface.

  • Circular head: Wide, rounded edge, used for hollowing out large amounts of clay from the inside of sculptures to reduce thickness before firing.

• C-50#86C (Short teardrop head + house/trapezoid head)

  • Teardrop head: Used for trimming and shaping the rounded, sloping curve at the bottom or shoulder of large vases and jars.

  • House/Trapezoid head: Features small, right-angled edges, suitable for gouging and creating ring grooves at the bottom of large cups/bowls on a pottery wheel.

  • Wide teardrop head: Used for shaping the outer curved surface of jars, vases, or terracotta basins to achieve a consistently rounded proportion.

  • Oval circular head (bottom): Used for smoothly gouging deep, curved grooves or trimming the inner walls of large salad bowls and basins.

Best time to use

Should be used at the "leather-hard" stage. The clay will peel off in long, beautiful strips, similar to peeling fruit, saving effort and time when working on large-scale projects.
