SPD-KNIFE-yellow Carving knife used for ceramic pieces to carve patterns on the clay surface. Made of stainless steel, size 1.2x15.3 cm (blade length 3.5 cm).

A standard versatile tool for ceramics and sculpting. The slim, pointed blade structure is specifically designed for trimming and shaping clay.

Usage

• Cutting clay slabs: Used for smoothly and precisely cutting clay slabs along straight lines or desired patterns/curved shapes.

Perforating and piercing: With its sharp, tapered blade tip, it is ideal for piercing through clay walls to create openwork patterns or to cut openings for ceramic lamps and aroma diffusers.

Trimming and removing seam lines: Use the blade to trim and refine the edges of vessel openings, base edges, or to scrape away slip seam lines that occur after removing the piece from the plaster mold, making them smooth.

Scoring for joining: The knife tip can be used to score crosshatch marks on the surface of damp clay to prepare the area for applying liquid slip to join clay parts, such as attaching cup handles.
