PSND-106 Thinfire Fiber Paper / Kiln Paper is a thin, high-temperature ceramic fiber sheet used as a base layer under workpieces on a kiln shelf. It prevents glazes or glass from melting and sticking to the kiln shelf. It is widely used in glass fusing and certain types of ceramic work.

How to Use

  1. Cut to size: Use scissors or a utility knife to cut the fiber paper slightly larger than the base of the workpiece.

  2. Place under the workpiece: Lay the paper flat on the kiln shelf, then place the ceramic or glass workpiece on top. Fire as usual.

  3. Separate the workpiece after firing: Once the kiln cools and the piece is removed, the paper will turn into a soft white powder. Pick up the workpiece and gently brush off any powder clinging to the bottom.
