PKINF-206 U-Stilts / U-Pins for Ceramic Firing are high-temperature U-shaped wires designed for embedding or supporting small ceramic pieces (such as beads, pendants, or miniature ceramics) during kiln firing, preventing them from sticking to the kiln shelf.
How to use
-
Embed in clay (for creating loops): Press the legs of the U-pin into the clay during the shaping of the piece (greenware) so that the U-pin becomes a permanent, high-temperature wire loop firmly attached to the ceramic after firing, for stringing necklaces or keychains.
-
Use as firing stilts: Place the U-pin upside down on the kiln shelf and place small, fully glazed ceramic pieces across the curved part of the U-pin to elevate them above the kiln shelf.
