C-67 RAKU TONG WITH TEETH is an essential specialized tool in the Raku Firing ceramic process for safely moving extremely hot pieces.

Usage

Grabbing Extremely Hot Pieces from the Kiln: Used to directly grasp ceramic pieces from the kiln while the glaze is molten and the piece is glowing red hot (approximately 900°C - 1,000°C) to immediately transfer them to a reduction chamber or immerse them in water, as per the Raku technique.
Maintaining a Safe Distance: The extra-long structure allows the ceramist to reach into the kiln to grasp pieces directly, while their face and body remain at a safe distance from the heat and flames.
Positioning and Supporting Heavy Work: The specially designed tong tips securely grip the rim or base of vases, bowls, or cups, ensuring they do not slip during rapid transfer.
