CR-51 is glazed in a glossy pink color with black dots. When fired, the glaze crawls, creating raised patterns of varying shapes and sizes. The result is a surface rich in unpredictable natural patterns, creating both tactile and visual interest for each piece.
How to use
- Apply 1–4 coats of glaze on the bisque fired at Cone 04 temperature.
- Wait for each layer to dry almost completely, but not too much to crack.
- Crawl type coatings will develop small cracks as they dry, so handle the workpiece with care.
- For greater durability, it can be applied over AMACO Celadon glaze or underglaze before firing.
The results obtained
- Applying multiple coats will result in larger coating spots and more cracks.
- Applying a thin layer will give you fine, bead-like particles.
- It is best to burn at Cone 5–6 for best results.
