Amaco Cosmos Glaze, color CO-21 Galactic Glacier

Amaco Cosmos CO-21 Galactic Glacier is a flowing, pale blue glaze with iridescent crystals that reflect shimmering pink, periwinkle, and silver light.

Application: Apply to Cone 04 bisque.

Coats: Apply 4 coats.

Recommendation: For best results, leave the inside or back of the piece unglazed.

Firing: Can be fired in a normal medium-speed firing program without the need for a special cooling schedule. However, to elevate the results of this glaze, a controlled cooling schedule can be used to promote crystal growth.

Flow Warning: This glaze group tends to flow easily, so it is recommended to stop applying the glaze about half an inch (0.5 inches) from the base/foot of the piece. Additionally, you can use a drip tray or soft refractory bricks to protect the kiln shelves.

Food Safety: This glaze is food safe, but due to its surface durability, it is not recommended for direct food contact areas.

Due to potential variations in raw materials used in the manufacturing process, we recommend conducting test firings on a test tile before actual use with each new batch number.
