Elephant Velvet Underglaze fires to a light, dusty gray at cone 05. At cone 5, the color darkens to a deep gray, and at cone 10, it transforms into a blackish-gray, resembling elephant hide. Applying a clear glaze will significantly enhance the vibrancy of the underglaze at all firing temperatures.
Due to potential variations in raw materials between batches, it is recommended to fire a test tile with the glazed underglaze before use whenever a new batch number of glaze is introduced.
