Dark Green Velvet Underglaze is a deep green underglaze with high color saturation. It fires to a bright, rich color at cone 05, becomes a forest green at cone 5, and darkens slightly at cone 10. A clear glaze will significantly deepen and clarify the underglaze color at all temperatures.
For Dark Green Velvet Underglaze, it is recommended to use HF-9 Zinc-Free Clear. If HF-10 Clear is used, the color may shift.
HF-9 Zinc-Free Clear is suitable for use with underglazes to reduce the chance of color change, as most underglazes, stains, and oxides display their best color shades when used with zinc-free clear glazes.
Due to potential variations in raw materials between batches, it is recommended to fire a test piece with the glazed sample before using a new batch of glaze.
