Avocado Velvet Underglaze is a bright pea green at Cone 05. The color deepens at Cone 5 and becomes a deep chartreuse at Cone 10. Glazing with a clear glaze will noticeably enhance the depth and intensity of the underglaze at all firing temperatures.
For Avocado Velvet, we recommend using HF-9 Zinc Free Clear glaze, as using HF-10 Clear glaze may cause a color shift.
It is recommended to use HF-9 Zinc-Free Clear with underglazes to reduce the chance of color shift. Most underglazes, stains, and oxide colors will display their best hues when paired with a zinc-free clear glaze.
Note: As raw materials may vary between production batches, we recommend conducting test firings before using a new batch of color for actual work.
