Fire at Cone 5 (1207°C) or Cone 6 (1243°C).
Brushing application is recommended. Apply at least 2-3 coats to achieve the desired effect as shown in the example.
This special metallic glaze, when fired, yields a reflective, mirror-like surface and adds a beautiful shimmering effect to all types of pieces. As it is not food-safe, it is suitable for sculptures or decorative pieces requiring a glass-like reflective surface. Palladium glaze should be applied in 3 coats to achieve a smooth, mirror-like finish. This type of glaze has high fluidity, so care should be taken not to fire above the specified temperature. It is also suitable for low-porosity clay bodies. Additionally, it can be used as an accent glaze or layered well with other AMACO glazes.
Since dry-mix dipping buckets are in powder form, the safety data and labeling differ from brushing glazes.
Note: All dry dipping glazes can be difficult to layer, as they behave differently from brushing glazes. Therefore, thorough testing should be conducted before layering on actual pieces.
